Randy Moore - vocals Titles: 1. Freespirit Ride Now, Southern Records has reissued a 1979 album, of a band from Tennessee what seemed to be pretty well gifted. So, on the eight songs of the album, at least six of them seem to be worth, all of them being full of Tennessee Southern Rock perfume. 70’s spirit “Freespirit Ride” has a good guitar solo. “Southern Style Rock n’ Roll” is the perfect song title in the Southern Boogie way. Gold medal is given to “Time to be Movin’ on”, a melodic ballad with a solo close to Dickey Betts or Tommy Crain. Southern spirit is still on “Gambler’s Dream”, with a little bit under saturated guitar. Band offer us a good Blues song with “Baggie Full of Blues”, but is at his best on “The Bounty Man”, a medium Marshall Tucker band or Charlie Daniels style Southern Rock/Country song. This song finishes faster with a duet of guitars just like the Outlaws style. Good job! It is pity this record didn’t get success, but it’s not a problem anymore, because this band never stopped touring for the last thirty years. It has been famous bands (Blue Oyster Cult, Molly hatchet, Johnny Van Zant band) special guest, and still has all his original members. And you know what? They are recording a new album. Sometimes we can go until the end of our passion, even without fame and glory. This is a real dream! Olivier Aubry |
